SOUND LEVEL MANAGEMENT AT CLARK COUNTY Acoustical Consultants: Wrightson, Johnson, Haddon & Williams This amphitheater opened in 2003 at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ridgefield WA, a few miles north of Portland OR. It is the area's first world-class outdoor entertainment venue and is built specifically for music events. 8,000 of the seats are reserved and under a permanent, state-of-the-art acoustic roof. The remaining 10,000 seats are general admission lawn seats. The requirements for sound level management were set forth in the certificate of use permit.
A major effort was made in the acoustical design to reduce sound emissions into the community behind the stagehouse. An unusual feature is that access to the pavilion seating is through double door lobbies located in the pavilion wings.
