CONCERT SOUND LEVEL MANAGEMENT
Operating a simple, single microphone system

Here we show just how easy it is to run a Grozier system. Switch on and this screen appears.

The system runs from the drop-down menus in the control panel. To setup the system before the concert
begins, (perhaps at sound check) click one Config, then select Concert Name.

Enter the name of the event - say John Mayer. All system data will be keyed to this name.

Perhaps you will need to change the Sound Level Limits. In this example, you can set the limits on three
different sound level averaging periods. 1 sec, 1 min, 5 min. Other systems use different limit forms.

Next comes Calibration. The calibration screen shows the previous calibration data along with the date.
In an emergency you can use this previous calibration data, but it is strongly recommended that you
take the time to complete calibration for every concert.

Place the calibrator on the microphone, watch the sound level settle down to close to the calibrator's 94 dB,
level, then press Set. Now the system is ready for the event to begin. Just click on Run to start the system.
If the concert starts out quiet, the screen looks mostly green and yellow.

Later, the concert heats up, so the screen might look like this, turning mostly red and yellow

While the concert runs and displays data to the sound engineer and to management, a detailed report is being kept.

At the end of the concert, click on STOP. Closing data is recorded and the system shuts down.

This is an example of just a very simple system. Most systems come with multiple microphones, complex
computations and sophisticated presentations. Want different features?
